Section B

The Client's Original Requirements

The homeowner, an IT professional with a spouse and two school-going children, had recently taken possession of a 3BHK apartment in South Bopal.

Their primary requirements included:

  • Clutter-Free Minimalism: A clean aesthetic inspired by Scandinavian functionality, avoiding excessive ornate mouldings or dark heavy veneers.
  • High-Storage Capacity: Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with dedicated suitcase lofts, children's book storage, and an organized kitchen pantry.
  • Moisture & Heat Resistance in Kitchen: High-durability materials capable of enduring daily Gujarati cuisine and heavy spice usage.
  • Strict Fixed Budget: Protection against the common industry problem of unexpected 30% cost overruns mid-project.
Section C

Initial Challenges & Site Constraints

During the initial site laser audit conducted by Co-Founder Ramesh Taak, three distinct structural challenges were uncovered:

1. Deep RCC Beam Drop

An unplastered 14-inch concrete beam traversed the dining area, threatening to create an asymmetric ceiling line if a standard flat false ceiling was installed.

2. Narrow Kitchen Width

The builder's kitchen layout left only 7.5 feet of width, making an island impossible and requiring millimeter-precise clearance for refrigerator and dishwasher openings.

3. Society Work Hours

The apartment complex enforced a strict 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM noise window, requiring off-site factory modular manufacturing rather than noisy on-site cutting.

Section D

Design Strategy & Space Planning

Our design team formulated a synchronized plan addressing each structural constraint:

Cove Beam Integration: Instead of hiding the 14-inch beam behind an overly dropped ceiling that would diminish room height, we enclosed the beam in an architectural stepped soffit with indirect LED cove illumination, converting an awkward structural obstruction into an intentional spatial divider.

Parallel Modular Kitchen Layout: We engineered a high-efficiency parallel layout. The cooking zone (hob, spice pull-out, chimney) was positioned along the exterior ventilated wall, while tall pantry units and built-in appliances were aligned opposite to maintain a clean 42-inch central walkway.

Homeowner Feedback

"What stood out most with Elite Interior was their transparency. In Ahmedabad, everyone warns you that interior contractors take money and disappear for weeks. With Ramesh ji inspecting the carpenters daily and Vikash ji sending us photo logs every Friday, we never had to worry. The kitchen quartz finish and wardrobe alignments are flawless."
